Islamabad/New Delhi: Pakistan on Wednesday confirmed that 24 impacts were recorded in Indian missile strikes across multiple locations, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) stronghold in Bahawalpur, as part of India's massive retaliatory operation named Operation Sindoor.

Addressing a press conference at 4:08 AM, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said, "A total of 24 impacts have been reported by India, with different weapons." He also confirmed eight civilian casualties and strikes near key locations, including Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, and Kotli.

One of the most significant hits was in Ahmedpur East, Bahawalpur, near the Subhan mosque—known to be a hub of JeM activity and closely associated with the group’s founder Maulana Masood Azhar. The mosque complex reportedly suffered serious damage.

The ISPR spokesperson further confirmed strikes near Bilal mosque in Muzaffarabad and in other areas such as Muridke, Kotki Lohara in Sialkot, and near Shakargarh.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, speaking to Sky News, denied any Pakistani involvement in the April 22 Pahalgam attack which killed 26, including a Nepali national. He claimed Pakistan was itself a victim of terrorism but did not directly address the nation's ties with terror groups.

On the Indian side, sources confirmed to ANI that the operation was a coordinated effort by the Army, Navy, and Air Force using precision-strike weaponry including loitering munitions. The nine targeted sites—across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir—were chosen based on intelligence inputs identifying key leadership of JeM and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

India’s Ministry of Defence said the strikes were “focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature” and made clear that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted. The ministry stressed that the action was in response to the "barbaric" Pahalgam terror attack and was conducted entirely from Indian soil.

Operation Sindoor marks one of the most significant Indian cross-border strikes in recent years, with strategic precision weapons used to deliver a clear message: terror infrastructure will not be tolerated.
