Leaders across India have backed Operation Sindoor, calling it a justified strike on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, and urged continued action against cross-border terrorism.

New Delhi: In a rare show of unity, Indian political leaders from various parties have come together to endorse Operation Sindoor, the recent precision strike by the Indian Armed Forces targeting terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation came in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, “I welcome the surgical strikes carried out by our defence forces on terror camps in Pakistan. Pakistani deep state must be taught a stern lesson that another Pahalgam never happens again. Pakistan's terror infrastructure must be completely destroyed. Jai Hind!”
Congress leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot remarked, “The Pahalgam terror attack shocked the entire nation. Since then, people were waiting, and even the Opposition, along with Rahul Gandhi, supported the government to take action. As per the reports that are coming, only terrorist hideouts have been targeted.”
Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai also praised the armed forces, saying, “I want to congratulate the Indian armed forces. People of India wanted action on terrorists and Pakistan, a country which harbours terrorists. The country wanted this.”
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, speaking in Patna, said, “India, Indians and Indian Army have never tolerated terrorism and won’t do it ever. The Indian Army has always protected the ‘sindoor’ of women. Indian people believe in truth and peace. We have never thought ill of others, however, we know how to give a befitting reply when anyone casts an evil eye on us.”
A Congress statement reinforced that India’s commitment to eliminating terrorism is “anchored in the supreme national interest” and must focus on dismantling Pakistan's terror networks.
Operation Sindoor, according to Defence Ministry sources, marks India’s deepest cross-border operation since 1971. It struck nine terrorist targets—four in Pakistan and five in PoK—using precision munitions. Conducted jointly by the Army, Navy and Air Force, the operation is being hailed as both a strategic and symbolic success in India’s counter-terror policy.
