He is scheduled to inspect the terminal building at around 11:30 am, followed by the formal inauguration of Phase I of the project at noon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the newly built Noida International Airport on Saturday, marking a major step in strengthening aviation infrastructure in northern India.
Located in Jewar, in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar district, the airport is being developed as the second international airport serving the Delhi-NCR region, alongside the existing Indira Gandhi International Airport. Together, the two airports are expected to function as an integrated aviation system, helping reduce congestion in Delhi while significantly increasing passenger and cargo capacity.
According to an official statement, the Prime Minister will visit the site on March 28, 2026. He is scheduled to inspect the terminal building at around 11:30 am, followed by the formal inauguration of Phase I of the project at noon. He will also address a public gathering during the visit.
The Noida International Airport is one of the largest greenfield airport projects in India and has been developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with an investment of approximately ₹11,200 crore. In its first phase, the airport will be able to handle around 12 million passengers annually. Once fully completed, its capacity is expected to expand to 70 million passengers per year.
The airport features a 3,900-metre-long runway capable of handling wide-body aircraft. It is equipped with modern navigation systems, including an Instrument Landing System (ILS), and advanced airfield lighting, allowing for safe and efficient operations even in low visibility and during night hours.
A key highlight of the project is its cargo infrastructure. The airport will include a multi-modal cargo hub with an integrated cargo terminal and dedicated logistics zones. Initially, it will be able to handle over 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of cargo annually, with plans to scale up to 18 lakh metric tonnes in the future. The site also includes a 40-acre Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility, which is expected to support India’s growing aviation maintenance needs.
The airport has been designed with a strong focus on sustainability. It aims to operate as a net-zero emissions facility, incorporating energy-efficient technologies and environmentally responsible practices.
Architecturally, the terminal design draws inspiration from Indian heritage, with elements reflecting traditional ghats and havelis, blending cultural aesthetics with modern infrastructure.
Strategically located along the Yamuna Expressway, the airport is planned as a multi-modal transport hub. It will be connected through road, rail, metro, and regional transit networks, ensuring smooth and efficient connectivity for both passengers and cargo.
The inauguration of the Noida International Airport is being seen as a major milestone in India’s efforts to position itself as a global aviation hub while supporting long-term growth in passenger traffic, cargo movement, and MRO capabilities.
