The Ministry of Railways has announced nine new Amrit Bharat Express trains, aimed at providing affordable, long-distance travel on non-AC services. Targeted at migrant workers, students, and families, the trains are expected to improve connectivity across multiple states, offering reliable options for festive travel and peak migration periods.

The Amrit Bharat Express trains are designed for routes exceeding 800 km or where existing services take more than ten hours. The Ministry highlighted that the services will cater to high passenger volumes across regions with large numbers of long-distance travellers, ensuring accessible and comfortable journeys for employment, education, and family needs.

Guwahati (Kamakhya) – Rohtak

Train 15671 will depart Kamakhya at 22:00 on Friday, arriving Rohtak at 14:45 on Sunday.

Return 15672 will leave Rohtak at 22:10 on Sunday, reaching Kamakhya at 12:15 on Tuesday.

Dibrugarh – Lucknow (Gomti Nagar)

Train 15949 will depart Dibrugarh at 21:00 on Friday, arriving Gomti Nagar at 13:30 on Sunday.

Return 15950 will leave Gomti Nagar at 18:40 on Sunday, reaching Dibrugarh at 12:40 on Tuesday.

New Jalpaiguri – Nagercoil

Train 20604 will depart Nagercoil at 23:00 every Sunday, reaching New Jalpaiguri at 05:00 on the fourth day.

Return 20603 will leave New Jalpaiguri at 16:45 on Wednesday, arriving Nagercoil at 23:00 on the third day.

New Jalpaiguri – Tiruchirappalli

Train 20610 will depart Tiruchirappalli at 05:45 every Wednesday, arriving New Jalpaiguri at 05:00 on the third day.

Return 20609 will leave New Jalpaiguri at 16:45 on Friday, reaching Tiruchirappalli at 16:15 on the third day.

Alipurduar – SMVT Bengaluru

Train 16597 will depart SMVT Bengaluru at 08:50 every Saturday, arriving Alipurduar at 10:25 on the third day.

Return 16598 will leave Alipurduar at 22:25 on Monday, reaching SMVT Bengaluru at 03:00 on the fourth day.

Alipurduar – Mumbai (Panvel)

Train 11031 will depart Panvel at 11:50 every Monday, arriving Alipurduar at 13:50 on the third day.

Return 11032 will leave Alipurduar at 04:45 on Thursday, reaching Panvel at 05:30 on the third day.

Kolkata (Santragachi) – Tambaram

Train 16107 will depart Tambaram at 15:30 every Friday, arriving Santragachi at 20:15 the next day.

Return 16108 will leave Santragachi at 23:55 on Saturday, arriving Tambaram at 10:00 on the third day.

Kolkata (Howrah) – Anand Vihar Terminal

Train 13065 will depart Howrah at 23:10 every Thursday, arriving Anand Vihar at 02:50 on the third day.

Return 13066 will leave Anand Vihar at 05:15 on Saturday, reaching Howrah at 10:50 the next day.

Kolkata (Sealdah) – Banaras

Train 22588 will depart Banaras at 22:10 on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday, arriving Sealdah at 09:55 the next day.

Return 22587 will leave Sealdah at 19:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, reaching Banaras at 07:20 the next day.

Kerala not included

While the new trains connect West Bengal, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, Kerala has not been included in the announced network.

The Ministry’s focus appears to be on states with high migrant travel demand, particularly from Bengal, ahead of upcoming elections.
