Payyannur: The Railway will operate 112 special train services during the Onam season from August 16 to September 6.

Of the total services, 38 will be operated within the Southern Railway zone, while 16 will run from Southern Railway to other railway zones. Last year, 55 special services were operated during the Onam season.

A total of 26 services will operate from Thiruvananthapuram North and Kollam towards Chennai.

Six services will operate between Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram North, making it one of the routes connecting Kerala during the festive season. There will also be 28 services between Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam and Bengaluru, in both directions.

Two services each have been announced between Mysuru and Kannur and between Kannur and Bengaluru Cantt. These services will operate via Palakkad.

The special services within the Southern Railway zone include:

  • Chennai–Kollam–Chennai: six trips

  • Thiruvananthapuram–Tambaram–Thiruvananthapuram: six trips

  • Mangaluru–Chennai Egmore–Mangaluru: six trips

  • Chennai–Kollam–Chennai: 14 trips

  • Thiruvananthapuram North–Mangaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North: six trips

Southern Railway to other zones

  • Thiruvananthapuram North–Santragachi–Thiruvananthapuram North: eight trips

  • Ernakulam–SMVT Bengaluru–Ernakulam: eight trips

Services from other zones

  • Hyderabad–Kollam–Hyderabad: eight trips

  • SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North–SMVT Bengaluru, via Palakkad: 20 trips
