South Western Railway announces two more Onam special trains from Mysore to Kannur via Bengaluru to ease the festive rush for Keralites.

Bengaluru: To accommodate the heavy festive rush of passengers during Onam, the railways has announced two more additional special trains connecting Karnataka and Kerala. These services will run from Mysore to Kannur via Bengaluru, directly benefitting the large Malayali diaspora residing in both cities. The first special service will operate just before Thiruvonam day, while the second will run after the festival.
With a Bengaluru–Ernakulam Onam special train having already been declared earlier, this takes the total number of festival special trains announced from Bengaluru so far this season to three.
The Mysore–Bengaluru–Kannur special train will also serve as a major boon for commuters heading to the Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts.
Within Kerala, these trains will have scheduled halts at Palakkad, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara and Thalassery.
