Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has extended a helping hand to a tribal girl, who was herding goats due to financial problems despite securing a seat in IIT, Patna.
Badavath Madhulatha, a talented tribal girl from Rajanna Sircilla district, despite securing a seat at IIT Patna with an impressive 824th rank in the ST category of the JEE, she was struggling to pursue her dreams due to severe financial constraints.
Madhulatha, the daughter of hardworking agricultural labourers, faced a financial crisis. Her family could only manage to pay Rs 17,500 last month to confirm her admission.But they were unable to gather the additional Rs 2.5 lakh needed for tuition and other expenses. Forced to herd goats to support her family while her father was unwell, Madhulatha's dream of becoming an engineer seemed out of reach.
Moved by her plight, the faculty of Tribal Welfare Junior College, where Madhulatha completed her 12th grade, appealed for assistance. The Telangana state government quickly responded, recognizing her determination and potential.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy took to social media to congratulate Madhulatha for her resilience and achievements. He announced that the state government would cover the required expenses to ensure she could continue her education.
The Tribal Welfare Department has released Rs 1,51,831, covering her academic fees, hostel fees, gymkhana, transport, mess charges, and laptop costs, along with a waiver of Rs 1 lakh in tuition fees.
With this financial support, Madhulatha can now focus on her studies and pursue her dream of becoming an engineer. The Chief Minister expressed his hope that she continues to excel and bring pride to Telangana.
