The incident occurred on Thursday when Anoop beat up Vipin using a cleaning mop, according to the student.
Vipin who was staying at the hostel informed home two days after the incident. After this his mother took him home.
He sought treatment at the Ambalavayal family health centre after facing difficulty in walking. Even though he was sent home after providing treatment, the pain didn’t ease. He still limps while walking.
His father Manoj is paralysed below waist after falling from a tree four years back. Bindhu is a daily wage worker and makes ends meet.
Vipin was sent to hostel because of our living conditions. But now on, we will not send him there, said Bindhu.
Police recorded the child’s statement after being informed by the doctor.
A case has been registered under Juvenile Justice Act, informed Ambalavayal police.
