Lucknow, UP: Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), has officially re-inducted her nephew Akash Anand into the party following a public apology issued by Anand, in which he acknowledged his past mistakes and pledged to adhere to BSP’s principles. Akash Anand was expelled from the party earlier due to a controversial tweet and internal disagreements, which had strained his relationship with BSP leadership.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Mayawati confirmed that she had decided to offer her nephew another opportunity to serve within the party, despite his previous actions that had led to his expulsion. Anand publicly acknowledged his mistakes and expressed his full respect and honour for the senior leadership of the party, pledging not to be influenced by his father-in-law's opinions. In his apology, Anand emphasised that he would dedicate his political career solely to the BSP and its cause.

"I consider Mayawati ji my sole political mentor and ideal," Anand stated in his apology. He further assured that his personal relationships, particularly with his in-laws, would no longer impact his political decisions. Anand also apologised for the tweet that led to his expulsion, stating, "I regret my actions and the tweet I posted, which led to my expulsion from the party."

Mayawati’s response to Anand’s apology included a clear stance on his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth. She emphasised that Siddharth's involvement in anti-party activities had caused significant harm to the BSP and his actions were deemed unforgivable. She clarified that there would be no reconsideration regarding Siddharth's return to the party, stating that his actions had not only harmed the party but had also adversely impacted Akash’s career.

In a separate post, Mayawati addressed ongoing speculations regarding her health and the future leadership of the BSP. She assured her followers that she was in good health and, like the late Shri Kanshi Ram, she would continue to lead the party with full dedication. She made it clear that discussions about appointing a successor were premature, as long as she remained in good health.

In his apology, Anand also pledged to refrain from seeking advice from any external influences, particularly his family members, in his future political decisions. Instead, he vowed to take guidance solely from Mayawati, ensuring that his actions would align with the BSP’s ideology.

The BSP, under Mayawati’s leadership, has witnessed significant changes in its internal dynamics over the past months, and the decision to re-induct Akash Anand is seen as a step towards rebuilding ties and strengthening the party's future in Uttar Pradesh politics. Akash Anand’s re-entry into the BSP is a crucial development, as the party looks to retain its relevance in the state's political landscape ahead of upcoming elections.

While Akash Anand returns to the party fold, Mayawati’s stance on party discipline and loyalty remains firm, with an emphasis on keeping the party free from internal factionalism and external influences.
