Kunnamkulam (Kerala): Three people on a motorcycle, including a three-year-old child, were killed when a car struck their vehicle at Kurukkanpara Centre near the Arthat Church. The deceased have been identified as Muneer (35), Shifna (24) and their three-year-old son Emil Aibak, all residents of Edakkazhiyur. The crash occurred at 11.40 pm on Saturday.

The speeding car rammed the motorcycle riders before crashing into a nearby electricity pole. Eye-witnesses stated that the car driver was under the influence of alcohol. Although local residents and workers from the Kunnamkulam Nanma Ambulance service rushed the injured to Daya Royal Hospital and Malankara Hospital immediately, Muneer and Shifna had already died. Emil Aibak succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The car driver has been identified as Benny from Arthat, who is currently at large. Kunnamkulam Police who arrived at the scene and initiated further proceedings took into custody two of the co-passengers of Benny. A case has also been reportedly registered against Benny. 

Both the car and the motorcycle were completely destroyed in the collision. Traffic in the area was disrupted for a considerable period following the incident.
