Earlier, Singh’s final journey began from the AICC headquarters after Congress leaders paid their tributes to the late leader. The flower-adorned vehicle, carrying Singh’s mortal remains, left the Congress office as chants of "Manmohan Singh amar rahe" echoed through the streets.

A large crowd of Congress workers, leaders, and well-wishers joined the procession, with slogans of "Jab tak suraj chand rahega, tab tak tera naam rahega" filling the air. Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress president, along with Singh’s relatives, walked alongside the procession.

Before heading to the crematorium, Singh’s mortal remains were brought to the AICC headquarters from his residence at 3, Motilal Nehru Road, around 9 AM. There, Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi paid their final respects. Singh's wife, Gursharan Kaur, and their daughter also honored him with a wreath.

Singh passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92 at AIIMS in Delhi after suffering age-related medical complications. Known as the architect of India’s economic reforms, Singh served as the country’s Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014.

A seven-day national mourning has been declared, with the national flag being flown at half-mast across India, as a mark of respect to the former leader, according to the Union Home Ministry.
