Shipping Ministry confirms LPG carrier Shivalik docks today at 5 PM. 22 Indian vessels and 611 seafarers safe in Persian Gulf. No fuel shortages reported.

New Delhi: The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has confirmed that the Shivalik, a high-capacity LPG carrier, is expected to dock at Mundra Port today, Monday, March 16, 2026, at approximately 5:00 pm.
The vessel’s arrival marks a successful transit through the volatile Strait of Hormuz, a maritime chokepoint currently at the centre of escalating geopolitical tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States.
Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Special Secretary at the Shipping Ministry, assured the nation that all logistical hurdles have been cleared to ensure the cargo reaches consumers without delay.
"Before its arrival, documentation, priority berthing, and everything have been arranged at the port so that there is no delay in the discharge of cargo by this vessel." Sinha stated."
While the Shivalik brings immediate relief, the government is closely monitoring the remaining fleet in the Persian Gulf.
The Ministry also announced a second major arrival scheduled for Tuesday. The Indian-flagged vessel 'Jag Laadki', which departed from the UAE on March 14, is safely making its way to Indian waters. The cargo has approximately 81,000 tonnes of Murban crude oil. It is expected to reach Mundra Port tomorrow (Tuesday).
He added that 22 Indian flag vessels with 611 Indian seafarers are safe. Commenting on it, he said, "All Indian seafarers in the Persian Gulf area are safe. No incident has been reported in the last 24 hours, and we are keeping a continuous watch on the situation. We are in touch with each vessel and its crew."
