A massive landslide triggered by heavy rainfall struck near the 540 MW Kwar Power Project in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Monday, burying several vehicles under huge mounds of mud and debris.
Dramatic visuals from the site show vehicles almost completely submerged after a section of the hillside collapsed, with only parts of some vehicles visible above the debris. The landslide caused extensive damage and brought movement in the area to a halt.
Clearance teams have launched operations to remove the debris and retrieve the trapped vehicles. No casualties have been reported so far.
The incident comes amid heavy rain in the region, raising concerns over landslide risks in vulnerable mountainous areas.
