New Delhi: IndiGo submitted its response to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s show cause notice on Monday, meeting the 6 pm deadline amid mounting scrutiny over the airline’s operational failures.

According to sources, the contents of the reply remain confidential and are unlikely to be made public immediately.

A key meeting between senior officials of the DGCA and the Civil Aviation Ministry is expected later in the evening to examine the airline’s explanation and assess further action. The aviation regulator has also summoned IndiGo’s top leadership, including chief executive Pieter Elbers, who has faced growing criticism over the handling of the crisis.

A four-member DGCA panel will question the airline’s senior management as the government works to establish accountability for the disruptions that have left thousands of passengers stranded across the country.

IndiGo has filed its formal response to the show cause notice issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation after days of severe flight cancellations and delays. The submission was made before the 6 pm deadline on Monday. Sources said the communication has been tightly controlled and will not be released publicly for now.

Officials from the DGCA and the Civil Aviation Ministry are scheduled to hold a crucial meeting on Monday evening to discuss the content of IndiGo’s reply and determine the next steps. The airline has been under pressure as disruptions have continued for several days, affecting airports nationwide and causing widespread passenger inconvenience.

The DGCA has also called IndiGo’s senior leadership for questioning. Those summoned include chief executive Pieter Elbers, who has been under increased scrutiny due to the scale of the crisis and the airline’s response to it.

A four-member committee set up by the regulator will question IndiGo’s top management as the government seeks to identify the causes of the operational breakdown and ensure accountability within the country’s largest airline.
