This comes as IndiGo manages a high passenger volume during the holiday season and prepares for the arrival of its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft for long-haul routes.

Bengaluru: IndiGo issued a travel advisory on Thursday as heavy fog and poor visibility at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport began to disrupt holiday flight schedules.
The airline confirmed it is closely tracking the weather and providing ground assistance to maintain safety and passenger convenience. In its official statement, the carrier noted that low visibility and fog over Bengaluru have impacted operations. "We're keeping a close watch on the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly," the airline informed travellers via social media.
IndiGo urged its passengers to use official digital channels to check their flight status before travelling. "We request that you stay updated on your flight status. Please be assured that our teams are here to assist you at every step and provide full support," the advisory stated, while also expressing hope for "clearer skies" soon.
The weather warning comes a day after the airline reported substantial passenger volume during the peak holiday season. On Wednesday, IndiGo stated it has been maintaining operational stability, transporting more than one million customers every three days. The carrier is currently operating a network of 2,100 to 2,200 daily flights across 138 destinations and indicated it is prepared for the continued year-end surge.
Looking toward the upcoming year, an IndiGo spokesperson announced that the airline is preparing for the arrival of India’s first Airbus A321XLR aircraft. The new planes are scheduled to launch medium-to-long haul services connecting New Delhi and Mumbai with Athens starting January 23, 2026. The airline is also reportedly considering further network growth both domestically and internationally as its fleet expands.
The recent disruptions are part of a broader winter challenge for the Indian aviation sector, which has faced dense fog across northern regions in recent days. While the industry has been broadly affected, IndiGo maintained that it has effectively managed its schedule to ensure continued service stability despite the difficult conditions.
