Live 2026 election results for Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry. Seat counts, leading parties, and key political updates.

India’s 2026 Assembly election results have triggered major political shifts across Assam, Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry as counting trends reveal changing voter mandates.
Tamil Nadu Election Results 2026: TVK stuns in debut show
Tamil Nadu has produced a major political surprise as actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) emerges as the leading force. The party has secured 106 seats and is leading in 1, taking its total to 107 seats, making it the single largest party.
The ruling DMK is in second place with 59 seats, while the AIADMK follows with 46 seats. No alliance appears close to a clear majority, pointing to a fragmented mandate in the state.
Puducherry Election Results 2026: NDA holds advantage
In Puducherry’s 30-member Assembly, the ruling alliance retains an edge. The AINRC has secured 12 seats.
The BJP has 4 seats, while the DMK has 5 seats combined. TVK has made a mark with 2 seats, and Independents have also won 3 seats. The NDA remains ahead overall and is likely to retain control.
Kerala Election Results 2026: Congress emerges strongest
Kerala has seen a major political change, with the Indian National Congress (INC) emerging as the single largest party. The Congress has secured 63 seats, with no further leads.
The CPM-led LDF has dropped to 26 seats, while its allies include CPI with 8 seats, IUML with 22 seats, and smaller partners such as Kerala Congress and RSP contributing marginal gains. The BJP has managed 3 seats, while Independents have won 4 seats including leads.
The results indicate a decisive shift away from the LDF after its previous tenure under Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
West Bengal Election Results 2026: BJP ahead in tight contest
West Bengal is witnessing a high-voltage battle between the BJP and TMC. The BJP is currently ahead with 204 seats won and leads in 2 more, taking its total to 207 seats.
The TMC, led by Mamata Banerjee, has secured 75 seats and is leading in 6, taking its tally to 81 seats. Smaller parties and independents have also managed limited wins, but the BJP is in a strong position to potentially form the government.
Assam Election Results 2026: BJP retains clear lead
In Assam, the BJP-led NDA continues to dominate. The BJP has secured 82 seats in the 126-member Assembly.
The Congress has improved its position with 19 seats, while regional allies such as AGP and BPF also remain part of the ruling bloc’s strong performance. The results strongly indicate another term for the NDA under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Before the 2026 Elections: Who was in power?
Ahead of these elections, Assam was governed by the BJP-led NDA under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Kerala by the CPM-led LDF under Pinarayi Vijayan, West Bengal by the TMC under Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu by the DMK under M.K. Stalin, and Puducherry by the NDA coalition.
