New Delhi: India on Wednesday successfully test-fired the ‘Agni-5’ intermediate-range ballistic missile, reaffirming its strategic defence capabilities. The launch took place from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha.
In a statement, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that the missile met all required performance criteria. “Intermediate-range ballistic missile ‘Agni-5’ was successfully test-fired from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur in Odisha on August 20,” the ministry said.
It added that the launch “validated all operational and technical parameters” and was conducted under the supervision of the Strategic Forces Command.
