Preliminary information suggests the aircraft went down after developing a sudden technical snag in its engine while flying towards the Phaphamau and Sangam areas.
The aircraft’s recovery system was activated and both crew members escaped unhurt. With the assistance of police, fire brigade personnel, local residents and divers, the pilots were rescued safely from the site.
Officials said the aircraft was later recovered from an open area away from the main city. The area around the crash site has been cordoned off, and an investigation is under way to determine the cause of the incident. No casualties or damage to property were reported.
