Gold and silver prices in India continued their downward trend on November 5, raising questions about further corrections ahead of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

Gold prices in India registered a mild decline on Wednesday, reflecting subdued demand and the impact of inflationary pressures. As per the latest market update, the price of 24-karat gold (999 purity) stands at ₹₹12,148 per gram, while 22-karat gold (91.67% purity)—widely preferred for jewellery—has slipped to ₹₹11,135 per gram.
The price of 18-karat gold is currently ₹9,111 per gram, indicating a slight drop across all purity levels compared to Tuesday’s rates. The domestic bullion market continues to witness short-term volatility, influenced by fluctuating global cues, investor sentiment, and currency movement.
Despite the minor correction, gold remains one of the most resilient assets for Indian investors amid inflation and global economic uncertainty.
Since the beginning of 2025, gold has delivered a robust rally—surging nearly 60% year-to-date—driven by global geopolitical tensions and equity market swings. Silver, following suit, has climbed around 65% in the same period.

Silver prices also weakened, settling for ₹150.50 per gram or ₹1,50,500 per kilogram. Despite the short-term pullback, silver continues to enjoy long-term investor confidence amid strong industrial demand and supply constraints.
