FWICE demands Centre revoke Border 2 NDA shoot after Diljit Dosanjh collaborates with Pakistani actress in Sardaar Ji 3

New Delhi: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has urged the Union Government to immediately revoke filming permission granted for the movie Border 2 at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune.
The demand stems from growing controversy around actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh's collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3.
In a letter addressed to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah, FWICE expressed "deep concern" over Dosanjh’s continued participation in Indian cinema projects, particularly one with patriotic and military themes like Border 2, in light of his recent collaboration with Pakistani talent. FWICE has already issued a non-cooperation directive against Dosanjh, stating that his professional decisions have disrespected Indian national sentiments.
“It is important to bring to your notice that the said film (Border 2) features actor Diljit Dosanjh, who has been officially boycotted by FWICE,” the letter states. The union highlighted that the artist’s actions, including participating in films shortly after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, have “hurt the sentiments of the defence community.”
FWICE pointed out that the NDA, a symbol of national pride and sacrifice, should not be associated with individuals who are under public and professional boycott. “The NDA must not be used as a backdrop for a film involving an actor who is currently under boycott due to acts that undermine the spirit of national unity,” the letter added.
Border 2, a sequel to the 1997 war epic Border, features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh, and is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. The film is directed by Anurag Singh. The production team had earlier announced that the third schedule of the film had commenced at NDA Pune.
Amid rising social media outrage and criticism from the film fraternity, the makers of Sardaar Ji 3 have reportedly decided not to release the film in India.
FWICE has also demanded an unconditional public apology from Dosanjh and has instructed all film bodies affiliated with it to refrain from working with the actor on any ongoing or future projects.
The situation continues to evolve, with pressure mounting on the government to review and potentially rescind filming approvals granted to Border 2 at sensitive defence locations.
