New Delhi: Emergency responders rescued seven individuals, including five children and two women, after a fire erupted inside a residential building in New Friends Colony on Sunday afternoon, officials stated.

Upon receiving an emergency call regarding the blaze at approximately 3:39 p.m., the Delhi Fire Service dispatched a water bowser, a quick response vehicle, and a bulk fire engine to the southeast Delhi property, according to authorities.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that no injuries resulted from the fire, which was successfully contained by 4:05 p.m., and refuted rumours regarding the death of a minor.

"Reports claiming that a child died in the fire incident are incorrect. No casualty has been reported, and all occupants were rescued," a police officer stated.

Fire crews initiated an evacuation operation upon arrival, successfully removing the five children and two women who had become trapped on the upper story of the structure.

Police added that an injured dog was also pulled from the burning building and subsequently transported to a veterinary clinic for medical care.

According to fire personnel, the flames were restricted to the first floor of the residence.

Authorities stated that the precise cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
