Thiruvananthapuram: A fire broke out at a godown in Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram, on Sunday. The godown stores various items, including mattresses.

Four fire and rescue service units have reached the spot and efforts to bring the blaze under control are continuing. Local residents raised the alarm after noticing smoke billowing from the building.

Dense smoke was seen emerging from the godown. Fire officials said additional units would be deployed if required. The fire has not been completely extinguished, and it is yet to be ascertained which section of the godown the blaze originated in.

Materials from nearby shops have been moved as a precautionary measure.

The building is reportedly used to store goods belonging to Joy Furniture.
