New Delhi: Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has announced that Terminal 2 (T2) of the Indira Gandhi International Airport will be non-operational starting April 15, 2025. All flights currently operating from T2 will be shifted to Terminal 1 (T1) until further notice. The move comes as part of a major maintenance and infrastructure upgrade initiative, with T2 set to undergo a refurbishment lasting four to six months.
Airlines including IndiGo, Air India, and Akasa Air have issued advisories informing passengers of the shift. Passengers are urged to check updated flight statuses on official airline websites as changes in terminals may affect schedules.
IndiGo, in its advisory, stated that "due to planned maintenance at Terminal 2, all flights will now operate from Terminal 1 starting April 15". The airline has asked passengers to confirm terminal and schedule details before reaching the airport.
This terminal shift coincides with the completion of expansion work at Terminal 1 under Delhi Airport's Phase 3A modernisation project. Authorities aim to enhance passenger experience and accommodate rising traffic as T2 undergoes essential upgrades.
The maintenance work at T2 is expected to be completed by the September quarter of the next financial year.
