
As Cyclone Dana intensifies, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that approximately 5.84 lakh individuals have been evacuated to shelters in anticipation of the storm's impact.
Local officials, including Bhadrak’s assistant fisheries officer Sandeep Kumar Behera, confirmed that all fishing boats have been safely anchored. "Post-cyclone, when it is assessed, we will get to know the damages if any), and we will take action if needed...We will take action as per Government protocols..."

Flight operations at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata have been significantly affected due to the cyclone's landfall. However, Prasanna Pradhan, the Airport Director at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, announced that services will resume earlier than expected, at 8:00 am, instead of 9:00 am.
Meanwhile, bus services at the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal in Baramunda, Bhubaneswar, have also been disrupted, leaving many commuters stranded as they await the operation of transport services.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the severe cyclonic storm Dana is currently moving north-northwest at a speed of 10 km/h. As of 5:30 AM IST on October 25th, it was located over the north coast of Odisha, about 20 km north-northwest of Dhamra and 40 km north-northwest of the Habalikhati nature camp in Bhitarkanika. The landfall process is ongoing, with the back part of the cyclone making its way onto land. This landfall is expected to continue for the next one to two hours. Dana is likely to move west-northwest across northern Odisha and gradually weaken into a less severe storm by later this morning.
Director IMD, Manorama Mohanty says, "...Now it is about 15 km north of Dhamra and 30 km northwest of Bhitarkanika...now the current intensity is a severe cyclonic storm and wind speed is to 100-110 km/hr...landfall process continues...it will continue for next 1-2 hours. It is likely to West northwestward across North Odisha and weaken gradually into a cyclonic storm..."
