Two people were killed and more than six injured after a speeding wheat harvester crashed into a wedding bus on the Budaun-Delhi road

Budaun: Two people were killed and more than half a dozen others injured after a private bus carrying wedding guests was struck from behind by a speeding wheat harvester on the Budaun-Delhi road in the Mujariya police station area, police reported on Monday.
The accident took place late on Sunday night when the harvester collided with the rear of the bus, causing severe damage. Eyewitnesses said the impact was so forceful that several passengers were thrown onto the road along with their seats.
The bus was transporting a wedding party from the Usahait area to Kolhai village in Mujariya.
The deceased have been identified as Sajid, 25, and Farhan, 12, who died at the scene, police said.
More than six injured passengers were rushed to the Government Medical College by ambulance. Officials said their condition was serious.
Police teams arrived at the scene promptly and carried out rescue operations.
“The injured were immediately shifted to the medical college, where doctors declared two persons dead,” said Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Hridayesh Kumar Katheria.
Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Vipin Kumar confirmed the fatalities and added that six injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment.
Both the bus and the harvester were cleared from the road during the night to restore traffic flow.
