Thiruvananthapuram: Former union minister and Kazhakootam MLA V Muraleedharan suffered a bruise to his right leg after a weighing scale collapsed during a Thulabharam ritual at the Pournamikkavu Temple in Venganoor on Wednesday night. He was taken to a private hospital in Anayara for treatment.
Doctors confirmed there were no fractures and that the injury was limited to bruising. After receiving treatment, Muraleedharan returned home.
Rope snaps during Thulabharam
The accident occurred at around 8.30 pm while BJP MLA was performing the Thulabharam before the temple's presiding deity. The rope supporting the weighing scale snapped during the ritual.
Muraleedharan was offering kappa pazham (red banana, also known as chenkadali) as part of the ritual when the scale gave way, striking his right leg and causing a severe bruise.
