Bengaluru: A speeding car crashed into a scooter carrying a young couple in Bengaluru, leaving all three passengers injured. The driver, who fled the scene immediately after the collision, has since been arrested by the police.
The incident occurred near MS Ramaiah Hospital last month when the family, consisting of a couple and their child, were travelling on a scooter. According to the police, the car, driven by 23-year-old Sukruth, approached at high speed and rammed the scooter, sending it flying over the road divider.

The impact of the crash left the woman with injuries to her head, hand, and shoulder, while the man sustained rib fractures. The child, though shaken, only suffered minor injuries. Bystanders who witnessed the incident rushed to the family’s aid and quickly transported them to a nearby hospital.
Police were able to track down Sukruth after reviewing CCTV footage from the area. The footage revealed the car’s registration number, allowing officers to identify and apprehend the driver. Sukruth was arrested and charged with rash and negligent driving, causing bodily harm, and fleeing the scene of the accident.
Investigators believe that the crash may have been triggered by a road rage incident. According to police reports, Sukruth had allegedly been angered by the scooter rider honking at him at a traffic signal just before the collision. Police said that this provoked Sukruth to deliberately ram the scooter, leading to the violent crash.
Earlier this month, a speeding ambulance killed a couple and injured several others in central Bengaluru.
