Wanted gangster Anmol Bishnoi was remanded to 11-day NIA custody on Tuesday, just hours after he was deported from the United States and brought back to India.

Bishnoi—accused in the murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique—also faces 22 criminal cases in Rajasthan. He is the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Anmol landed in India this afternoon after being “removed” from US soil and was produced before Delhi’s Patiala House Court around 5 pm amid an unprecedented security ring that included RAF deployment. While the NIA sought 15 days of custody, the court granted 11.

In a detailed statement, the NIA said Anmol had been running terror syndicates and executing attacks from the US, coordinating with Lawrence and designated terrorist Goldy Brar between 2020 and 2023. The agency had already charged him in March 2023.

A native of Fazilka in Punjab, Anmol had been absconding since 2022. He fled India via Nepal and travelled through multiple countries before reaching the US.

Officials said he continued to operate the Bishnoi gang internationally, directing on-ground operatives to carry out targeted killings and other acts of terror.

The NIA noted that Anmol’s arrest is the 19th linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi–led terror syndicate, which the agency has been cracking down on since 2022.
