Situation in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a flood situation in several places, Vijayawada being one of the worst affected, after being pounded by heavy rainfall for the past two days due to a depression.
The Budameru Vagu river, notoriously known as the 'Sorrow of Vijayawada,' overflowed due to heavy rainfall, resulting in flood-like conditions in various parts of the city.
Aerial footage of Vijayawada reveals extensive areas inundated with rainwater. On Sunday, intense rainfall caused severe flooding in the Rama Krishna Puram area of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, with homes and vehicles submerged.
Police and NDRF teams launched rescue and relief efforts, relocating affected residents to rehabilitation centers.
Weather Department Forecast
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for the next five days, predicting heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
Isolated areas in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are expected to experience thunderstorms with lightning over the next four days, according to the weather department's forecast.
