Akasa Air has announced a new Bengaluru–Bagdogra–Dibrugarh service starting 1 February 2026

Akasa Air has announced a major expansion of its Northeast network with the addition of Dibrugarh as its 32nd destination, further boosting connectivity between Bengaluru and key cities in the region. The new service, which will operate via Bagdogra, is scheduled to begin on February 1, 2026, and is expected to significantly improve air travel options for passengers in Upper Assam.
The upcoming Bengaluru–Bagdogra–Dibrugarh service is part of Akasa Air’s broader strategy to strengthen long-distance connectivity between India’s tech capital and the Northeast, one of the fastest-growing aviation corridors in the country.

With increasing movement of students, professionals, and business travellers between Assam and Bengaluru, airlines are focusing on direct and one-stop connections that reduce travel time and improve access. Akasa’s new route aligns with this trend, offering travellers a smoother link to one of Northeast India’s most important commercial and cultural regions.
Dibrugarh is famous as a major hub for tea plantations, centre for oil and natural gas operations, growing hub for academic institutions and is also considered as a gateway to eastern Arunachal Pradesh.
Given its importance to trade, industry, and education, additional connectivity from Bengaluru, home to a large Assamese diaspora and student community, is expected to benefit both business and leisure passengers.
Tickets for the new sector are now available on Akasa Air’s website, mobile app and authorised travel agents.
The route is expected to draw strong demand from travellers seeking reliable links between South India and the Northeast.
As Akasa Air further expands, Bengaluru–Northeast routes are expected to play a crucial role in the airline’s long-term growth strategy.
