Ahmedabad: The tragic Air India AI-171 flight crash in Ahmedabad has claimed another victim, with one more body recovered from the tail section of the plane.

A multi-agency investigation led by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), in collaboration with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and other agencies, is currently underway to determine the cause of the crash.

To expedite the identification process, DNA analysis is being accelerated, with authorities aiming to identify victims within three days. According to PTI, a total of 270 bodies have been brought to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, and DNA samples have been collected from the victims and their families to facilitate identification.

Miraculously, one passenger, 40-year-old British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, survived the crash with injuries. He was seated in 11A and was traveling to London with his brother, whose fate remains unknown. Ramesh was admitted to the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital for treatment.

The London-bound Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed into a residential area shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on June 12. The plane was carrying 242 people, including 169 Indians, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian. The crash resulted in a massive fire and widespread destruction, claiming lives on the ground and among the passengers.
