The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released a photograph of an Indian gangster identified only as Kamal, who has been placed on its wanted list over his alleged involvement in a transnational organised crime network linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate.

The FBI said Kamal is an Indian national and a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi Organised Crime Group, which originated in Punjab and allegedly operated in California and elsewhere in the US.

The agency said Kamal is wanted for his alleged involvement in a conspiracy to interfere with commerce through extortion. A federal arrest warrant was issued against him on July 1, 2026, in the US District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles.

The FBI said, “This organisation, the Lawrence Bishnoi Organised Crime Group, originated in the Punjab state of India and operated in the Central District of California and elsewhere. On July 1, 2026, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Kamal in the United States District Court, Central District of California, Los Angeles, California, after he was charged with Conspiracy to Interfere with Commerce by Extortion.”

The FBI had earlier placed Gurpreet Singh on its wanted list. According to the agency, Singh is wanted for his alleged involvement in the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Organised Crime Group, which allegedly operates in the Central District of California and elsewhere and is involved in drug trafficking.

The US Department of Justice has also said it wants to extradite Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Lawrence Bishnoi.

Who else is on the FBI's wanted list?

In July, Punjab Police arrested suspended police officer Gurinderjit Singh Nagra, who had been indicted by the US Department of Justice.

The FBI has also listed Indian national Amritpal Singh as wanted for his alleged involvement in a transnational criminal organisation accused of conspiring to distribute and export controlled substances.

Amritpal Singh is allegedly associated with the Ravinder Dhanda Organised Crime Group, based in Vancouver. The group has been accused of smuggling large quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine for distribution across the US, Mexico and Canada.
