A WhatsApp suicide note is circulating online after a couple was found dead in a locked car in Noida on Valentine’s Day. Police suspect a murder-suicide linked to a relationship dispute.

Noida: A WhatsApp message allegedly sent by Sumit before his death is now circulating widely on social media after he and Rekha were found dead inside a locked car in Noida’s Sector 107.
The message reportedly claimed that the man had been in a long-term relationship with her and felt betrayed after learning about her planned marriage to someone else. The note, written in Hindi, suggested emotional distress and mentioned that he was taking the extreme step because of that.
The incident came to light on the morning of February 14 (Valentine’s Day) when police found two bodies inside a locked car parked near pillar number 84 on Dadri Road under the Sector 39 police station limits.
Both individuals had suffered gunshot injuries to the head. Officials said a pistol was recovered from the man’s hand, leading investigators to initially suspect suicide.
However, preliminary investigation now points towards a murder-suicide, with police believing that the man allegedly shot the woman before turning the weapon on himself.
Senior police officers and forensic teams visited the spot, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
What the WhatsApp note said
The man’s message claimed that he and the woman had been in a relationship for nearly 15 years. He alleged that she had promised marriage but was now planning to marry someone else, which deeply affected him.
“I am Sumit. I am going to die. Rekha is responsible for this. She was with me for 15 years and promised that she would marry me, but now she is going to marry someone else. That is why I am committing suicide, because Rekha has betrayed me.”
Victims identified, families informed
Police said the man was a 31-year-old resident of Trilokpuri, Delhi, while the woman was a 26-year-old resident of Sector 58, Noida. Both had reportedly been missing since Friday, and their families had filed missing person complaints before the bodies were found.
Authorities are continuing the investigation to confirm the sequence of events and establish all facts surrounding the case.
