Thrissur: The post mortem report of the Malayali youth, who died in Poland recently, held an injury on his head as the cause of death, in contrary to his friends’ claim that it was a natural death. Ashik Raghu (23) had also sustained five other injuries on his body, as per the autopsy report.

Ashik is one of the two sons of couple Abhilash and Bindu of Peringottukara. He went to Poland a year ago in search of a job with the help of a neighbour.

There he had been working as a food delivery agent a few months before his death.

On April 1, his parents were informed that Ashik was found dead by his friends at their residence. Ashik was living with his two Malayali friends, on the basis of whose statements the prosecutor in Poland allowed the body to be transported without conducting an autopsy.

However, Ashik's father, on getting suspicious of his friends, applied with the police to conduct a post-mortem when the body reached home.

When the body was brought home on May 12, a post-mortem was conducted and it was found that the cause of death was a head injury. Five more injuries were also spotted on his body. Ashik's body was buried in Laloor, not cremated considering the possibility of a re-postmortem.

In search of the truth behind their son's mysterious death, the couple had applied to the Indian Embassy asking for a detailed investigation. However, they have not received any response yet.

His family also alleges that on the day of Ashik's death, he along with seven of his friends had attended a party and later an altercation broke out among them. This detail has been hidden from everyone, added Ashik's father.
