Fresh revelations have surfaced in the investigation into the alleged honeymoon murder of 27-year-old IT professional Radha Gayathri, with Uttarakhand Police claiming that her husband, Somayajula Sricharan, had secretly installed a GPS tracker on her laptop and altered their travel plans without her knowledge.

The new findings have added another layer to a case that initially appeared to be a mysterious death.

Gayathri, a native of Visakhapatnam who worked in Gurugram, was found unconscious at a homestay in Mussoorie on June 15 during the couple’s honeymoon. She was later declared dead at a hospital.

According to police, Sricharan had told investigators that the couple consumed alcohol late into the night before going to sleep around 3.30 am. He claimed he woke up the next morning to find his wife lying naked on the floor of their room.

However, investigators began noticing inconsistencies in the account as they examined the circumstances surrounding Gayathri’s death.

What started as a suspicious death probe soon turned into a murder investigation after police uncovered details about the couple’s travel plans and digital activity.

A key breakthrough came when investigators learned that the couple had originally planned to travel to Rishikesh but instead checked into a homestay in Mussoorie.

Gayathri’s family alleged that the accommodation was booked by Sricharan without informing her, raising questions about why the itinerary was changed.

During the probe, police also discovered that Sricharan had allegedly installed a GPS tracker on Gayathri’s laptop, allowing him to monitor her movements. The revelation has become a crucial part of the investigation.

Gayathri’s father, Parupuri Sudhakar, has accused his son-in-law of mentally and physically harassing his daughter. He also disputed Sricharan’s claim that Gayathri consumed alcohol, saying she did not drink.

Investigators have since gathered additional information related to the couple’s travel and hotel bookings.

Based on the evidence collected so far, Uttarakhand Police have registered a murder case against Sricharan. The investigation is ongoing as officers continue to piece together the events leading up to Gayathri’s death.
