Television actress Sanchita Ugale, known for her appearances in popular shows such as 'Kumkum Bhagya', 'Wagle Ki Duniya' and 'Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi', was found dead at her residence in Mumbai's Nalasopara East area, police said on Monday.

According to officials from Achole Police Station, the 22-year-old actress was found at her home in Sai Santoshi Building in Aachole Village on June 14.

Police said family members rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Investigating officer AK Dambare confirmed that police were informed about the incident by her father.

Based on his complaint, an Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Authorities said an inquest has been conducted and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.

Police added that the exact circumstances surrounding her death are yet to be determined and a detailed investigation is underway from all possible angles.

Ugale had built a growing presence in the television industry through her roles in several popular shows.

She portrayed Ruchita Jaitley in 'Wagle Ki Duniya' before landing the lead role of Sukoon in Dangal TV's 'Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi' opposite actor Sorab Bedi.

She had also reportedly appeared in the Vicky Kaushal-starrer 'Chhaava', where she played the character Tarabai. 

News of her death has shocked fans and members of the entertainment industry, particularly as the actress had shared a cheerful Instagram reel less than 24 hours before the incident.

In her final social media post, Ugale was seen smiling, dressed in traditional attire and lip-syncing to a popular Bollywood song. Police said further investigation is in progress.
