Jaipur: With Diwali just around the corner, Jaipur’s sweet shops are crafting their most lavish and exquisite treats to delight festive shoppers.

This year, one of the city’s renowned sweet shops, Tyohaar, is grabbing the spotlight with its ‘Swarn Prasadam’, priced at an eye-popping ₹1.11 lakh per kilogramme.

The founder of the outlet Anjali Jain explained, “This year, we’ve launched a new gold series called 'Sunheri Diwali by Toyhaar'. Under this, we’ve introduced India’s most expensive, healthy, and luxurious sweet 'Swaran Prasadam', priced at Rs 1,11,000 per kilo. This sweet is made with pine nuts, pure ghee, and sugar. Its key ingredient is Swaran Bhasma (gold ash), which is an edible form of 24-carat gold. We use it because, as we have all heard, gold ash holds great significance in Ayurveda. It is believed to strengthen immunity, and support overall development.”

Tyohaar has also introduced a special "Patakha Thaal" that includes diyas and cashew-based candies in the shape of firecrackers, such as anar, chakri, and bombs, to further enhance the festive mood.

“Along with 'Sunheri Diwali', we've introduced another concept... 'Dil Se Diwali'. Since we dedicate every festival to something special, this Diwali we've created sweets shaped like crackers such as bullet bombs, sutli bombs, anar, chakri, and diyas. All these sweets are made from cashew nuts, giving them a shelf life of about 15 to 20 days. Customers are also buying them as festive hampers, or complete thaali (platters) as gifts for their loved ones, and for themselves. These sweets are attracting children the most,” she added.

Available in a variety of well-liked varieties, such as Kaju Katli, Rasmalai, Motichoor Laddoo, and Pista Burfi, the sweets are packaged in jewellery box-like packaging. The high prices have also added a ‘premium’ appeal to these confections, making them a luxurious indulgence for the festive season.
