Meanwhile, minimum temperatures are below normal at 18.1°C, with misty mornings expected

New Delhi: Delhi’s air quality remained in the very poor category on Thursday morning, with Anand Vihar recording pollution levels in the severe zone, according to official monitoring data.
The post-Diwali deterioration in air quality has been compounded by low wind speeds, which have hindered the dispersion of pollutants. Data from the SAMEER app showed that Anand Vihar registered an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 428, the highest among all 48 monitoring stations in the city.
Most parts of the national capital reported air quality in the very poor range, while only six stations recorded readings in the poor category. The overall AQI at 9 am stood at 326, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) bulletin.
As per CPCB’s classification, an AQI between 0–50 is considered good, 51–100 satisfactory, 101–200 moderate, 201–300 poor, 301–400 very poor, and 401–500 severe.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the minimum temperature settled at 18.1°C, about 3.7°C below normal for the season. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 32°C, with misty conditions prevailing in the morning before skies turn mainly clear later in the day.
