Erode/Ariyalur: With Tamil Nadu gearing up for the upcoming Assembly elections, voter awareness campaigns have intensified across the state, with local authorities undertaking creative initiatives to encourage higher participation.

In Erode, election officials on Friday collaborated with women from Self-Help Groups to promote electoral awareness through vibrant kolam (rangoli) designs. The artworks, displayed in public spaces, carried messages urging citizens to exercise their right to vote and actively participate in the democratic process.

A similar effort was witnessed in Ariyalur, where officials organised a voter awareness rally accompanied by kolam art displays. The campaign also included a signature drive, with residents pledging to contribute towards achieving 100 per cent voter turnout in the constituency.

These initiatives are part of the Election Commission’s broader push to enhance voter engagement across Tamil Nadu ahead of the polls.

The state will go to the polls in a single phase on April 23, with counting of votes scheduled for May 4.
