Rajkot rural police crack nationwide mule account network; 9 arrested
The Rajkot Rural Police have dismantled a nationwide cyber fraud network involving transactions worth nearly ₹1,500 crore.
Under ‘Operation Mule Hunt’, the Rajkot Rural Police have busted a massive nationwide cyber fraud network involving transactions worth nearly ₹1,500 crore, marking a significant breakthrough in the fight against financial crimes.
So far, nine people have been arrested in connection with the case. In the latest crackdown, three accused — including the main kingpin — were taken into custody. Earlier, six individuals had already been arrested as part of the investigation.

Superintendent of Police Vijay Singh Gurjar said the operation was carried out under clear directives given by the Deputy Chief Minister and the DGP, with guidance from the IG.
According to Vijay Singh Gurjar, SP Rajkot Rural: "Under the Gujarat government’s 'Operation Mule Hunt', clear instructions were given by the Deputy Chief Minister and the DGP, with guidance from the IG. Acting on these directions, the Cyber Cell of Rajkot Rural district has successfully cracked a major mule account case. The accused involved in the case have been arrested, and three more accused have now been taken into custody. One of them, Alauddin Muhammad, is a resident of Telangana. He was responsible for transferring money through multiple mule accounts and receiving the funds back through (angadiya) channels.”
Investigations have further revealed that these mule accounts were not only used for large-scale cyber fraud but were also linked to online gaming operations and GST-related financial transactions.
Police officials said efforts are ongoing to trace additional links and financial trails connected with the case.
