Mandla’s Chowa village battles severe water scarcity as residents risk climbing into wells daily and demand deeper borewells.
A severe drinking water crisis has gripped Chowa village in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandla district, where residents are struggling daily to secure potable water amid drying wells and limited borewell access.
From early morning to late night, villagers gather around shrinking wells, waiting for their turn. In many cases, locals climb down into deep wells to collect water manually before containers are pulled back to the surface.
