Actors Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, content creator Dharna Durga and director Suresh Triveni opened up about their upcoming dark comedy Maa Behen, which explores a dysfunctional mother-daughter relationship. Madhuri said she was drawn to the role of Rekha, a flawed and unconventional mother unlike any character she has portrayed before, adding that she enjoys taking on diverse roles throughout her career.

Triptii revealed that the film’s narration by Triveni and writer Pooja Tolani was so engaging that it felt like watching a completed movie, though the challenge of comedy initially intimidated her. The cast credited workshops for helping build the chemistry essential to the film’s humor. Dharna said her comic timing stems from growing up in a lively Punjabi family.

Discussing social media scrutiny, Madhuri and Triptii noted that public judgment has intensified online. Madhuri also defended Aishwarya Rai Bachchan against criticism over her recent Cannes appearance, urging people to respect her achievements and legacy.
