Para powerlifter Jhandu Kumar was felicitated at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) National Centre of Excellence in Gandhinagar after scripting history by winning a bronze medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, a feat that has brought pride to Indian para sports.
Sharing his journey, Jhandu Kumar said the Gandhinagar SAI Centre played a major role in his success, adding that medals started coming after he joined the centre. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the Khelo India initiative gave him valuable high-level exposure that helped him win his first international medal in China before claiming a bronze medal in Glasgow.
