Gujarat Titans will look to strengthen their chances of securing a top-two finish when they take on a struggling Chennai Super Kings in the IPL on Thursday. Having already booked a playoff berth, GT are currently second on the points table, and a win would move them closer to Qualifier 1, giving them two opportunities to reach the final.
Despite criticism over their conservative batting approach, Gujarat opener Sai Sudharsan said the team’s focus remains firmly on winning matches rather than chasing a massive margin of victory. “The first important thing is to play good cricket and win the match,” Sudharsan said.
For Chennai Super Kings, the clash is a must-win encounter after their playoff hopes suffered a setback with a loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Batting coach Michael Hussey admitted the team was disappointed but stressed the importance of moving on quickly. Injuries and inconsistent bowling have further dented CSK’s campaign this season.
