Teenage cricket sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who captivated fans with his explosive batting in IPL 2026, will be the focus of a research study by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore.

The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals batter had a record-breaking season, scoring 776 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 237.30. He won five awards, including the Most Valuable Player title and the Orange Cap.

IIM Indore Director Himanshu Rai said the study aims to understand the factors behind the extraordinary success of child prodigies and the challenges they face due to fame, wealth, social media pressure, and rising expectations. The research will examine the roles of personality, practice habits, family support, coaches, and mentors.

The interdisciplinary study, involving experts from psychology, sociology, communication, and behavioral sciences, will begin within two weeks and conclude in about three months.

Findings will be shared with research journals and the BCCI.
