Idukki's twin sisters make double silver screen debut in Malayalam horror thriller ‘Koodothram’

Twin sisters Aksa and Abhiya from Nedumkandam in Kerala’s Idukki district are all set to make their silver screen debut in the Malayalam horror thriller Koodothram, marking a rare double debut for the siblings.

The higher secondary students of St Xavier’s School will be seen playing twin sisters on screen as well, a role that mirrors their real-life bond. Koodothram is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 12.

Their entry into cinema came unexpectedly when a photograph shared by their mother, Tincy, on Facebook caught the attention of the film’s team, who were on the lookout for twin child artistes for the project. Impressed by the sisters, the makers reached out, leading to their casting in the film.

Aksa and Abhiya say the encouragement they received from their family, teachers and classmates played a key role in boosting their confidence as they stepped into the world of cinema. With their first film now ready for release, the sisters believe this opportunity has opened a new chapter and helped them envision a future in the film industry.
