Gujarat father-son duo builds AI satellite prototype ‘Rakshoghna’ for future space missions
Vadodara father-son duo unveils AI satellite prototype ‘Rakshoghna’ designed to detect space debris and support future missions.
Innovation is taking flight from Gujarat’s Vadodara as a father-son duo claims to have developed an AI-based indigenous satellite prototype aimed at supporting India’s future in space technology. Innovator Mithilesh Patel and his 17-year-old son, Vraj, have introduced ‘Rakshoghna’, a concept satellite designed to identify space debris and improve navigation for future space missions.
According to the young innovator, the AI-powered prototype uses onboard cameras and intelligent navigation systems to position itself in space and respond to environmental and operational challenges. The duo also says the technology is envisioned to contribute toward addressing global concerns linked to climate change and sustainable space operations.
Although currently at the prototype stage, the creators plan to showcase Rakshoghna at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Startup Event in Vadodara. A patent application for the innovation has already been filed.
