In Rajasthan's Baran district, which is home to state Education Minister Madan Dilawar, up to 108 government schools are in poor condition, forcing kids to attend classes outside, beneath trees, or on elevated platforms.

All school buildings that have been deemed unsafe must be demolished, according to directives from the authorities.

Currently, there are 68 students enrolled at the Government Primary School in Hadauta village of Shahabad block, but only three teachers are assigned to the temporary hut built by the local villagers. The majority of the students are from the Bhil tribal community.

“The plaster of the walls is coming out. It has been four months since we started studying outside in this shack. This shack was built by the villagers," Anil, a student, said.

Baran District Collector Rohitash Singh Tomar said, "Schools were checked. And the schools which were in terrible condition have been asked to be made from scratch. DO has given out the order... we have taken many buildings on rent because our priority is the safety of our children. The money which was allocated, work has begun with that, but our priority was to keep children safe, so we have asked them to vacate the building,”

Dr. Lalit Meena, a BJP regional MLA, stated that alternative arrangements have been made for students until new buildings are ready and that the district's damaged schools will be rebuilt.
