Chandigarh’s 54th Rose Festival blooms at iconic Zakir Hussain Rose Garden
Chandigarh’s iconic Rose Festival returned in full bloom as the 54th edition was inaugurated at the historic Zakir Hussain Rose Garden.
Chandigarh’s much-loved Rose Festival opened on a vibrant note on Friday at the iconic Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, ushering in three days of colour, fragrance and cultural celebration.
The 54th edition of the festival was inaugurated by Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, marking the beginning of one of the city’s biggest annual events.

Home to more than 850 varieties of roses, the sprawling garden has been transformed into a visual spectacle, drawing visitors from across the country. Blooming roses in vivid hues, combined with live music and performances, set the tone for the grand opening.
Adding to the festive atmosphere are numerous stalls where artisans are showcasing handicrafts, decorative items and locally made products. Visitors noted that this year’s festival carries a distinct Gen-Z flavour, reflected in its creative displays, modern presentation and lively vibe.
The three-day event features a packed line-up of activities, including the popular Rose King and Rose Queen contests, photography and painting competitions, folk dance performances and musical shows.
The festival at the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden will continue until Sunday.
