New Delhi: Spring arrived in full colour in the capital as the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Monday inaugurated the 2026 edition of the annual Tulip Festival, drawing visitors to vibrant floral displays along Shanti Path in Chanakyapuri.

Organised by the New Delhi Municipal Council in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands, the festival celebrates both the season of renewal and the long-standing cultural ties between India and the Netherlands. A key attraction this year is the Tulip Walk, accompanied by curated exhibitions showcasing thousands of tulips in a spectrum of colours alongside other seasonal flowers.

The event was initially scheduled to open on February 17 but was postponed by a week due to heightened security arrangements in the capital for a major international summit. Despite the delay, the festival has attracted strong footfall since its opening.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Dutch envoy highlighted the symbolic value of tulips in strengthening people-to-people connections, noting their presence in popular culture, including Indian cinema.

Visitors from across the country and overseas were seen strolling through the floral corridors, capturing photographs and admiring the carefully landscaped displays. With its blend of natural beauty and cultural exchange, the 2026 Tulip Festival has once again brought the spirit of spring to the heart of New Delhi.
